WORLD WATER DAY

Today is the UN's World Water Day! International World Water Day is held annually on 22 March as a means of focusing attention on the importance of freshwater and advocating for the sustainable management of freshwater resources.

Here at the farm we know that water is our most precious resource, and it's extremely important that we all work hard to treat our local water systems sustainably.

Some of the things we do at River Edge Farm to conserve water and live sustainably are:

- limiting the number of baths we give the horses and ponies

- recycling the leftover water from the horses' buckets to irrigate the gardens

- utilizing irrigation timers

- collecting water in rain barrels

- only running the dishwasher or laundry when there is a full load ready

- regularly checking the farm for leaks

- avoiding cleaning products or other things that contain harmful chemicals that will end up in the water that we rely on!

What kinds of things do you do at your house to conserve water?
